2 years down and many more to come!

This week me and Chance celebrated our two year anniversary! In a way it seems like we have been married forever and its hard to imagine life before I was married, but then its crazy how two years can fly so fast. I'm so grateful I made the decision to marry Chance. He is my best friend, he makes me laugh, he is an awesome father and husband. He loves our daughter so much and he does a great job while I am away at work. I sometimes think of all my silly crushes when I was younger or people that I wanted to marry, and I am so grateful Heavenly Father knew what was best for me. I could not be happier with anyone else. I love you babe. Thanks for the 2 great years and I'm excited for many more to come!

Half a Year old

Our little Emma is already 6 months old! Time really does fly. Its hard to imagine our life without Emma in it but in the same breath its crazy she is growing so fast. We went to the doctor this week and these are her stats: She weighs 14 lbs 15 oz although personally I think the scale is off since that means she has only gained an ounce in 2 months. I have weighed her on my scale at home which is usually pretty accurate and it says 16 lbs. :) She is 27 inches long, which is in the 90th percentile.
Our little Emma:
Sits well on her own

Really wants to crawl but has not quite figured it out yet. She gets in the crawl position but can't seem to manage to go forward.

Has figured out that she can use her voice to make really loud noises.

She is sleeping for the most part through the night. She usually sleeps from 9 or 10 to six in the morning and then wakes up just to eat and then she will usually sleep till 9.

She loves to grab EVERYTHING. She knocked over 3 glasses of water at Texas Roadhouse the other night.

She has climbed out of her bumbo three times now. She is not safe anywhere.

She is so strong and full of energy. I'm not looking forward to the day when she crawls or even worse walks. I don't know if I will be able to keep up with her.

We have been so lucky to have sucha great baby. We love you Emma!

Hunting Sucess!

The fall season in the Rasmussen family means that its hunting season. Luckily we have a cabin where we can go to and we dont have to hunt in the freezing cold. I never thought I would join a family who loved hunting so much, but I have come to enjoy at least being up in the mountains and riding horses. This year Chance has been up at the cabin alot but not nesessarily hunting for himself, but this weekend he shot an elk. It was quite an experience. He was very happy, anyone that wants to come over for an elk steak is welcome, we will have plenty of them. :)

This is Emma and Makenna waiting at the cabin for the hunters to return.

Uncle Cole didn't kill an elk but he brought home a furry friend for all of the kids to see. He found this beaver just lying dead with no bullet hole or anything. We hope Cole doesn't catch some rare disease that caused this beaver to die. The kids loved it though and it was pretty funny to see.

All of the neices with Uncle Cole and the beaver...

Chance's brother Brigg shot an elk last weekend so here are all of the boys with their prizes.

Here is the meat hanging, its a lovely site isn't it. Way to go hunny!

Four months!

Emma is getting so big! As much as I like to see her do new things all of the time, it makes me sad that she is growing up so fast. We love her so much. Look at all of the things she has done in her four months of life:

She has been on a boat, we are breaking her in early to love the water. The Rasmussens are fish in the summer so we hope Emma will be too.

She has been on a horse with daddy, also a Rasmussen thing that she will have to love. :)

She has been to two BYU games with three more to go. She has been such a trooper. The past two games the sun has been in our face for most of the game, but Emma has been great. She only cried a couple of times when the BYU fans scared her from being so loud. :)

She has played in the bath with her cousins. She loves all of her cousins and loves that they want to play with her and hold her.

Emma has now decided to roll from her back to her front as well as her front to her back. She never stays on her blanket and I find her in all sorts of places and positions. She also scoots around almost like she is trying to crawl. I can't trust her on any high surface now. :)
Emma starting out on the blanket

Notice the dirty clothes hamper in the corner..

This is where she ends up. :)

The other day she got stuck and got a little frustrated that she couldn't go any further, so she started calling for mommy. So I put her back on her blanket and in a few seconds she was stuck again. I don't know what I'm going to do with her. hehe

Emma's New trick!

I tried for almost two weeks to get this on video. Here is what Emma has learned to do. Also a quick update, I took Emma to the doctor last week and she now weighs 12 lbs and 4 ounces and is 23 inches long. The doctor was impressed with how strong she is. Everything looks great. We love having Emma in our home!

Summer Fun!

This summer has been a ton of fun for us as a family. This summer has been especially fun for me since I have gotten to stay home all the time and be a mom. Too bad its back to the real world with work and school. :( We were able to take two little vacations, the first to Lava Hot Springs and the second to Lake Powell. Emma is such a little trooper and has done so great as we drag her everywhere we go.

So at Lava Hot Springs we went to a huge swimming pool park that had slides and high jumps, including these platforms as they called it. We had to sign a "platform waiver" so in case we killed ourselves they wouldn't be held responsible. I signed it without really knowing what I was getting myself into. It was a 32 feet drop, the height that Olympic swimmers dive from. It took alot of convincing but me and Chance jummped together. It hurt pretty bad and I'm not even sure I'm glad I did it but I was proud of my courage. ;) I'm pretty sure my tailbone was bruised after giving birth to Emma and jumping only reinjured me, but its all good.
I'm still contimplating whether I want to jump in this picture...

Here we go!

At least my form was a little better than Chance's :)

We got Emma in the pool for the first time. She liked it cuz the water was pretty warm, it was a different story for the Lake Powell water. :)

That night all of the adults minus Jessica who was willing to watch all of the kids went to the Hot Springs. It was so nice. The best part about these hot tubs is that you didn't smell like sulfer afterwards. It was so nice to sit and relax with everyone. I love hot water!

The next day we went and tubed down the river. The river is one of the main attractions and all troughout the town they have tube rental stands. Lava is definately an interesting city with not much rules. No one cared how many people you piled in the back of your truck or what you did on the streets. Here we are on the river!

The river was surprisingly full of a ton of rapids and was so much fun!

I didn't take a ton of pics in Lake Powell but here is what I have. We played a game where you had to get a cookie from your forehead to your mouth, only using only using your facial muscles. I stunk at it but Chance did pretty good.

Summer let us borrow a swimsuit for Emma so we got her all dressed up and took her out to the water. The water was a little chilly and Emma would have nothing to do with it. Poor girl thinks we are torturing her. This was the before picture.

Summer got us all cute headbands and even a baby headband for Emma.

Here is our little family on a boat ride. We are so glad we went to Lake Powell, it was a ton of fun!

2 Months!

I can't believe that Emma is already two months old already! Time sure does fly. In less than a month now I will be returning to work, it makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I hate to leave my little one. Emma is getting so big I can't stand it. She is smiling all of the time now, esspecially in the morning (I hope that doesn't mean she will end up being a morning person, hehe). She loves to push on her feet and "stand up" and she holds her head up very well. I have put her in her bumbo a couple of times and she loves it, I don't like to put her in for very long though cuz she can't hold her head up that well yet. If there is stuff going on she does not like to lay down, she pulls her head up like she wants to sit up, she also pulls her head up when she is in her car seat, that means she wants out. :) We love her so much and it is fun to start and see her personality. She also got her very first toenail painting on Sunday, she is such a big girl. :)We go to the doctor on Monday so I will tell you her stats then!

Emma's blessing

Thank you Chelsie for taking some great pics of Emma's blessing. Thanks to all who could come as well, we had most of the family here. Emma was blessed in the same dress that I was blessed in so that made it extra special. She was beautiful. Chance did a great job with the blessing. The food was great and thanks to all who helped with it. Here are the pics! There were a ton of them so I could only pick a few to display...

We were lucky enough to get a four generation picture...Grandma Ras is 90 years old and going strong..

Rodeo!

Every year the Rasmussen clan goes to the rodeo in Spanish Fork as part of their 24th of July festivities. This year it was extra fun because I got to dress Emma all cute like a cowgirl! I found the cutuest jean vest at Old Navy and borrowed some cowgirl boots from Chance's sister, and then Chelsie gave me the cutest cowgirl bow which made the outfit stinkin cute! I just love to show her off. :)

Emma keeps getting bigger every day. According to our scale she now weighs over 10lbs. She holds her head up so well and is starting to focus well with her eyes. She recognizes her mother and I'm pretty sure she recognizes daddy too. She is starting to smile and coo and is such a good baby. We love her so much!

With Gradpa Ras and Great Grandma Ras..

All dressed up in her complete outfit!
