Its a girl!!

So I'm sure you all know by know but just wanted to let everyone know how excited I am to have a little girl come in to our home. The official name will be Emma Elizabeth. The ultrasound tech was absolutely positive it was a girl and it was pretty obvious to us as well. I'm a little nervous due to the fact that I don't know how to take care of a girl. Being raised in a house full of boys never gave me the opportunity. ;) And Tammy took care of me more than I really took care of her. hehe But I'm more excited than anything and I just want to go buy something pink to celebrate!

Happy one Year!

Me and Chance have been married for a whole year, can you believe it?? :) Exactly a year ago we were married in the Manti temple for time and all eternity. I can't believe how time has flown by. I am so grateful for to be able to be sealed to the man I love forever. Chance, even though you are crazy sometimes and drive me nuts (esspecially when I am riding in the car with you), I am so glad I married you. Thanks for the wonderful year and I hope we have many many more to come!

Done with School!!!

I just want to officially tell everyone that I am done with school! It is such a good feeling! I didn't think the day would ever come. I have yet to enjoy my break as I have been preparing for Christmases, birthdays, etc, but it is soon to come. Its just nice that I can go to bed and wake up whenever I want. I better enjoy that now before the baby comes! Then I'm pretty sure there will be no peace and quiet for me.
Also, I just wanted to wish my anti-blog husband a happy birthday! We had a nice homecooked meal tonight and we are going to see the rugby movie Invictus. Happy birthday babe! I love you so much! You will be the best father cuz you already are the greatest husband. Mwah!

Oh Christmas tree!

I forced Chance to go Christmas tree shopping with me the day after Thanksgiving. We got a real tree, it smells so good. This is the first year we get to spend Christmas as a married couple. Last year was so nuts with wedding plans that we had no time to even celebrate Christmas. This year we plan on relaxing and enjoying the Christmas season. It was fun to decorate our house and get in the Christmas spirit.
As far as other new goes...I will be officially done with school at the end of this week. It is such a relief. I never thought the day would actually come! This semester has been crazy with all the work plus dealing with the lovely side effects of being pregnant. I have never been so ready to be done with school. Come on Friday!
Also, we will be finding out on the 28th of this month whether we are having a boy or a girl so stay tuned! We are finding out early so hopefully they tell us right! hehe. We are excited and cant wait to start planning!
Anyways...here are pictures of our tree...

In the back you can see our stockings. My grandma made mine but my mom took over the tradition and made one for Chance. Thanks mom!

Thank you Summer!

Last night at work I snuck away and visited Chance's sister Summer who works in the Cardiac ICU at Utah Valley. She happens to have an ultrasound machine on her floor. We snuck into an empty room and had a little fun. I saw our baby move its little arms and legs! I had never seen that before on any previous ultrasounds. I could also see its little heartbeat. It was very reasurring to me. It was so cool because when I have been to previous ultrasounds at my doctor's office they last a minute and don't let you see a whole lot. Last night we spent all the time we wanted looking at our little peanut. It was so much fun! So we decided I will just find out what sex it is at work and then I won't have to pay the money! :) Thanks Summer! You are the best!

Surprise!!!

So on Sunday we had a big family gathering to celebrate six birthdays and Tammy coming to visit from California. Me and Tammy also had another big news to tell the family...

Yes me and Tammy are both pregnant! I couldn't think of anyone else to share the preganancy experience with other than my sister. Just so everyone knows I am almost ten weeks...I still have a long ways to go! Our due date is June 11, and Tammy's is May 31st, so very close together. We are going to have to fight over mom! I am very tired most of the time so finding energy to work full time and go to school full time is difficult for me. I can't wait to be done with school so I can relax and enjoy being pregnant! I have had a little "morning sickness" but it usually happens at night. Its starting to get better, I just wish my gas and indigestion would get better as embarrassing as that is! hehe Chance wants a boy, I don't really care. I probably won't find out until January. They can find out earlier but you have to fork out 50 dollars so we will see. It is wierd to think something is growing inside of me but it is the coolest experience ever. I have heard the heart beat and have included a picture. Hearing my child's heartbeat was pretty much the coolest thing ever! I'm sure you will get many more updates in the future. ..
Me and Tammy showing our little pregnancy bumps (or lack thereof) :)

Our little baby, about the size of a gummy bear. What do you think it is? I can't wait to find out!

Halloween

For Halloween we went to our friends Josh and Diana's house for a little shindig. We had a lot of fun. I am amazed everytime we get together with friends how much my husband is like a little kid. Everyone loves to have him around for the entertainment. He had us in tears we were laughing so hard at his silly jokes. Oh Chance, I guess I have to love ya. :) We ate, chatted, played the doughnut game (Chance was so close to winning but his dropped on the floor), and watch the Skeleton Key, a movie I do not wish to see again. I guess its part of Halloween to watch scary movies, but me and Chance both can't handle them. But we had a ton of fun and it was good to see friends we hadn't seen in a while. Here are some pics..

I didn't realize how big your mouth has to be to grab on to that thing..

My husband is trying to cheat before they even start...

Dont we look so cute as bacon and eggs? hehe

Where has all the time gone?!!

Wow, I didn't realize that its been over a month since I have blogged. I told you I would drop off the face of the planet after school started. :) I have been so busy its unreal. Sorry I have been horrible at keeping in touch with people but I hope you understand. You could probably tell by the looks of my dirty house how busy we both have been. But here is a quick update. I am almost done with school!! December 7th is my last day of classes so I really only have a month and a week left! I have never anticipated the end of a semester as much as I do now. I am going to sleep all day everyday once I'm done just to catch up. :) I still have 45 more hours to do of clinicals and many more papers and projects to do in the meantime. But at least I see the light. I still hardly ever see my husband. We look forward to the weekends every week.... Chance is still working crazy hours, in fact, he is working today for 18 hours! Tomorrow for Halloween we are going to be bacon and eggs. I know its kind of cheesy but I was desperate and didn't have much time. We will be going to Chance's friend's party so I will post pictures! That's about all for now but I thought I would tell everyone that I'm still alive!

Oh the joys of night shift...

Don't get me wrong, I love being a nurse, but sometimes I really don't love the hours that come with it. Being married makes it even worse. I have only seen Chance for a half hour in the past 48 hours, and wont see him again till before the BYU game tommorrow (Go Cougars!). Our schedules are the exact opposite so when I get home he's already left for work and when I go to work he's on his way home. But for those of you who are wondering how my first night went, it went well. Alot of cute babies and the mothers were great too! I gave my first shot to a newborn, the Hepatitis B vaccine. I had my hand ready to poke but it took a second or two of convincing myself before I could follow through. It made me sad to know that I had just made the poor baby cry. :( Everything other than that was good and I think I'm going to enjoy my work. The people were really and welcoming too.
Chance, even if you don't read this, I miss you when you are away. You are the best part of me and I love you so much. Thanks for the wonderful nine months. Its been a bumpy ride at times, but its been so worth it. Love you babe.

Trying to save money, the key word is "trying"

Chance got a fifty dollar gift certificate to Outback Stakehouse so we decided to go on a date night last night. We were really excited when we only spent six dollars, just for the tip and we got an appetizer, two meals, and dessert. I was so excited that we had such a cheap dinner. So then we thought we would save money and go to the dollar theatre. When we got there we couldn't decide on a movie that we both wanted to watch, so then we decided to go home. I told him we should check the other dollar movie theatre out by Costco in Orem. He told me there was no dollar theatre there, and I insisted there was, so then we bet five dollars on it. To my disappointment I saw that the old dollar theatre had now turned into a Pirate World or something like that and there was now a new theatre close by. We debated going to see a new movie but then decided we didn't want to spend the money. He told me that instead of five dollars, he wanted to just get one new shirt cuz he felt like he didn't have any clothes. So then we went to Old Navy. He insisted that I buy something for myself too (I didn't resist too much) and to make a long story short we ended up getting alot more than just one shirt. So much for trying to be frugal. We laughed afterwards at the thought that we didn't want to see a movie cuz it was too expensive. But we did vow we would not spend any money on clothes till Christmas. hehe
So other news, school is still extremely busy for me. I have at least 3 maybe 4 15 page papers to write throughout the semester, two hour long discussions to lead, many presentations, a debate, and 90 hours of following a nurse manager. Not to mention I'm working full time. And I start my new job tommorrow so wish me luck! Chance is also working like crazy and taking night classes. Its surprising that we still manage to spend time together. But i guess that means we will never get sick of eachother, at least not yet anyways. :)

New Job!

So I'm excited to announce that I got the new job working on the Mother/Baby floor at Utah Valley Hospital. I'm excited and ready for the change. I will still be working nights which kind of stinks but I guess it is impossible for some nurses to escape.

Also I just wanted to show you pics of our horse and how big she is getting! She is a beautiful color too. I don't want her to change colors but she will most likely turn a whitish/grey. We went last night to play with her and Chance's sister's horse. Chance's sister's horse, Flame had never been ridden before and Chance was able to be the first one to ride it. It was quite interesting. Here ares some pics...

Me and my baby....

My hot cowboy husband..

She is getting so big!

This is Chance getting on Flame for the first time. It actually went better then what we thought it would since she can be a pretty wild horse...

Where did the summer go?!!

I can't believe the summer is almost over and that in two days I will be going back to school...sad. I will be taking 15 credits and still working full time, so I thought I would write one last post before my life is over for a time. Me and Chance were able to spend one last weekend of relaxation at his cabin before all the craziness begins. I rode a horse for the longest I have ever done, two hours! I was pretty sore the next morning but it was worth it. With our baby horse Josie getting bigger and more beautiful, plus with another horse addition to our family (which we purchased from Chance's parents), Fancy, we decided to save up so I can get a new sadle for Christmas that actually fits me. We shall see what happens. Also, another update in my life..I am also hunting for a new job. I have heard word back from a couple of places, and will most likely be working at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. I had two interviews last week that turned out well, and one interview today. I will most likely be taking a postition in the Mother/Baby floor, so right after the babies are born I will take care of the babies and their moms. I will also float to the NICU. I am supposed to hear back in the next couple of days but they said I interviewed well! So many changes all at once, I don't know if I can handle it. hehe Chance will also start school on Thurs so we won't be seeing alot of eachother from now on. Sad. Other than all that, I am still very happily married and have the best husband in the world! I love you babe. Until next time...peace. :)

Seven Peaks

Yesterday, Val trusted me enough to bring little Eryn to Seven Peaks with me. I figured since Eryn loves the water so much and her mother doesn't, it would be the prime opportunity. Val was hoping to get a little sleep while her rambunctious two year old was away, but she also had a newborn to keep her awake. Eryn had so much fun going down the big slide with "da tubes" and playing in the kiddie pools. And she was very well behaved and had a lot of fun. Thanks Eryn for the fun day!

Me and Eryn

If Eryn had her way she would have gone down this slide the whole day. She would go up all by herself and I would catch her on the way down. She must have done it at least twenty or more times!

Crazy Weekend!

This past weekend was a crazy one for me and Chance. Between the holiday, my brother Ryan's wedding, my neice Brooke's blessing, and family at our house, we were really busy but had a ton of fun. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures of the wedding since Val already does a good job at that, but here is what I do have:

On the 24th of July, we went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo with Chance's family. Tammy and Jeremy were also able to come with us. It was a ton of fun and we all enjoyed ourselves!

And finally, Ryan and Suzie!

Val was right, Ryan does make a lot of wierd faces!

Summer Fun!

This past week we were able to spend six days in beautiful Lake Powell. Every year Chance's family goes with their family friends the Bennetts. All of Chance's family were able to join us, and the Bennett's three daughters with their husbands and they each have two children, so it made for quite a crowd. It was hot, but the water was always there to cool us down. I was also able to have my birthday on the beach! We had so much fun wakeboarding, tubing, making sand castles, chilling, playing games, and being together as a family. I now have a nice tan, Chance says I look like a savage, but most importantly I have a lot of fun new memories to remember forever. Here are some pics for everyone's enjoyment.

Chance with our neice Sayla..she was so happy all of the time and esspecially loved Ottor Pops to cool her down. She is only six and a half months but she is a chunky monkey. :)

Me and our neice Hannah playing in the sand...

Makena joined in on our little party.

Awww...how tender

The boys' favorite game to play at Powell, horseshoes.

So Saturday night made for an interesting night. We played a game where you were blindfolded, had the Ipod so loud so you couldn't hear yourself sing let alone everyone laughing at you, and you had to show a great performance. We were all laughing so hard at times it is amazing I didn't pee my pants. Since I have shared Chance's embarassing moments with the world, he is making me put the video of me on the blog.

Sunday, my birthday, we had the opportunity to go to church in little podunck town. there were maybe five families that lived in the branch and the rest of the crowd were visitors. The boys just wore a white shirt and shorts. It was an interesting and fun experience.

All the family at church

They all threw a birthday party for me. It was so nice of them!

Chance surprised me with a pearl necklace and braclet, I had no idea...

Surprise number two occured when they all decided to spray me with silly string.

We went on a boat ride the same day, it was so beautful.

Chance is acting like he's so cool while jumping off the rock.So Monday, our last full day at Powell I finally got up on the wakeboard! I was so proud of myself!

Arizona Trip

So I know Jeremy and Kara already posted pics but I wanted to include some pics too of our Arizona trip. Chance was lucky enough to get a couple of days off so we thought we would be the first ones on the McCorristin side of the family to see little Curtis. He is growing and eating so much now, and he is adorable. We had a nice little vacation and are sad now to come back to the real world. We had fun at slide rock and just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Thanks to Jeremy and Kara for the fun weekend!

The Colorado river...its prettier in real life. Arizona had an amazing way of completely surprising you with a change in scenery in just a few seconds.

Little Curtis in his swing..he loved his being in swing better than his Aunt Sarah's arms.

Me and Curtis..

Me and Chance overlooking the canyon..

Me and Chance and the baby...we wanted to take him home but Jeremy and Kara wouldn't let us. Darn....
