18 months!

Our little cowgirl is already 18 months! She is getting so big I can't even stand it! Here are her stats:
33 1/4 inches, 90th percentile
22.6 lbs, 24th percentile
Head circ: 47 cm, 64th percntile
She is pretty tall, but still skinny as always!
She has become quite the picky eater, I never can seem to get her to eat her veggies. I swear she could live off of eggs, hot dogs, and mac and cheese, but thankfully I try and switch it up a bit for her.  She does love fruit, just not the veggies.
Here are some of the things she does now.....
She says "love you".  When she is pretending to talk on the phone, before she takes it away from her ear she says "love you".  How observant is that!
She can say "Affie", her aunt Afton worked hard to make her say that
Ask her to spank her bum and she will, its the cutest thing ever
We are working on the animal sounds but so far she can do dog, cat, and cow
She gives high five and rocks
She loves to put on mommy's make up and she is starting to really love my kitchen.  I clean up the  pots and pans sometimes four or five times a day. I hope she will revert to the kitchen set we are making for her after Christmas!
She still loves the bathroom and I'm constantly having to make sure the doors are closed.  When I catch her playing with the toilet paper, she instantly "blows her nose" into it so she can let me know she is putting it to good use!
She still speaks Chinese (she jabbers constantly). Grandpa Rasmussen taught her how to say "chop chop" and she puts her hands together and chops her hand.  Its hard to describe, but its funny....
She loves all of her cousins and loves to play with them!
It is so fun to see her evolve into her own little person, this is the funnest stage.  And next week she will officially be in nursery! Chance will finally be able to go to all of his meeting whether he wants to or not. :) It will be intersting to see how she does. Well, until next time!

Getting crafty!

Thanks to being inspired by Pintrest, I really want to do at least one thing crafty and useful every month! Pintrest has such good ideas and seem to make it easy for craft dummies like me....
I found these cute snowflakes made out of popsicles sticks. It was so super easy and it cost me 2 dollars.  My mother-in-law had a bunch of popsicle sticks and I just bought the spray paint. They turned out awesome!  And you really can't tell they are popsicle sticks!

And Chance's family had a big craft night when we celebrated Thanksgiving and I made this cute wreath.  Chance's mom was so thoughtful and knew I might like to make a BYU one so she bought all of the supplies.  It turned out so cute and it was easy to make as well!
And for Christmas we are making Emma a little kitchen set out of a night stand I bought for 10 dollars on KSL! It started out looking like this...
We took off the top part so it would be just her size.  We sanded it and painted it pink. We found all the assessories we will need for the oven knobs, sink, etc. at Home Depot and everything costed about thirty dollars. It is still in the making so no final pic yet,  you can take a look on my Pintrest board, and while it will be a different color, etc, hopefully it will turn out just as cute!!
Next month I am hoping to make something to hold all my jewlery so it wont get so tangled all of the time!  So many ideas and so little time!

Our little Leopard

A little while ago Emma was on Amoxicillin for a sinus infection. This is what she looked like after day 7....

Needless to say, she is allergic to Amoxocillin! :) It didn't seem to bug her but it definataly was noticable. And it took 3 days to go away. Poor thing, she looked like a leopard. Just thought I would share!

Halloween

So I know its Christmas and I'm just now getting around to posting Halloween pics but better late then never right? Emma was a ladybug for Halloween. My mother-in-law found the cutest costume at Cracker Barrell (who knew that had costumes right? and she was oh so cute. Me and Chance were bees, so we were all inscects. Here are the pics!!!

Pumpkin Patch

So I'm just getting to our Halloween celebrations, I am a slacker. Some of my friends and I get together on Wedsdays and have a little play date with all of our kids. It is such a nice break in my week and it is fun to get together and see our kids interact with eachother. For one of our play dates we went a pumpkin patch in Orem. It was a ton of fun for our kids. They had all kinds of animals that Emma went crazy over, a playground, a corn maze, and of course lots of pumkins! This is Emma saying hi to the chickens...
Mommy and daughter...
I love Emma's face so I had to include this one...I don't know what she is trying to say, she is so funny.

Post of many posts...

I am finally catching up on my blogging so there are a lot of new posts on here! We have been pretty busy and I really needed to just take the time and put some memories in here...Chance is working and going to school at night so we hardly ever see eachother. I am working still and learning how to be a single mom. :) On a good note, we got a brand new horse. And we were lucky to get it for a very good price: free! A friend of Chance's dad didn't want his horses anymore so he gave them to us at no charge. We own one of them now. His name is Shadow. He is 17, so older and tamer, and so far I am very happy with him. He will be my horse and Chance will still have Josie, the baby that is now three. Yeah for free horses!
Chance is riding Shadow and the one I'm riding will be Summer's horse...

15 Months!

Emma is already 15 months old! She needs to just stop growing up and stay young forever. :) Here are some of the things she can do...
She is now wearing makeup, she put this on all by herself. Isn't she pretty? :)
She can go to the potty all by herself, or maybe I should just say she can go "in" the potty all by herself. The picture is a little blurry but you get the point. :)
She can feed herself too, doesn't even make a mess. :)
She can sleep anywhere..
She can ride horses with daddy..
But mostly she is good at just being so darn cute! We took her to the doctor, and here are her stats: She is 32 inches long, in the 90th percentile She weighs 21 lbs and 5 oz, which is somewhere between the 10th and 25th percentile Her head circumference is in the 50th percentile. So basically she is tall and skinny and we neet to fatten her up. jk... She is getting so big and smart too, her are some other things she can do... She climbs EVERYWHERE. I am always finding her on our kitchen table, bed, highchair, and apparently in the toilet too. She has no fear and anything, which explains all the bumps and bruises that seem to be a daily occurance. She is very active and hard to keep up with. She still gives kisses and hugs, it makes mommy's day! She now says the words thank you, ba ba, uh oh along with the usual ma ma da da, grandma, and grandpa and we are teaching her the animal sounds which she does when she feels like it. She obeys simple commands. She is really good at throwing her diapers away but lately she has been throwing the good ones away too. What a helper. :) She loves to feed herself, she makes a huge mess but its good for her to learn. She fold hers arms to pray, I will occassionally catch her saying her own prayers too. It makes me feel so good to see that. There are probably a ton more facts that I can't think of right now but I am really starting to see Emma grow up and it makes me a little sad. Its fun to see her learn new things but sad that she definataly is not a baby anymore.

Ranch Fun!

A couple of times a year we get to go to the Davis Ranch. Chance's sister's in-laws own this ranch and we love to go there! They have a small lake to swim in. They have a bunch of canoes and other little toys that make it even funner. And Cole brought some scuba gear and I got to go scuba diving for the first time. It was quite the experience. It took some getting used to, breathing through your mouth instead of your nose was different, but once I got used to it it was a lot of fun. The gear was a little big for me so I really look like a sea monster in it but it was fun still! hehe I just took a couple of pics..sorry, I really need to learn to be better with my camera!

Seven Peaks

This year we as a family purchased the Pass of all Passes that is good for Seven Peaks, and both Lehi and Orem Trafalgas. Me and Emma mostly went to Seven Peaks during the day but Chance occasionally joined us. It was so much fun. For the most part Emma loved it. The water there is always warm and Emma loves warm water! She is quite the little daredevil though. She would go face first in the water and needed constant supervision. I went down the slides with her a couple of times, she hasn't quite gotten to the point where she enjoys that yet. Maybe next year though! I'm so happy we bought the passes and it was definatly worth the money. And we still can go to Trafalga till next June so we still have a lot of use to get out of it! Family Picture...

We forgot to bring a spare set of clothes for Emma after we were done, so she stole some of her cousin Makenna's clothes, this is what she ended up looking like...

Lake Powell!

Lake Powell with a one year old is quite the adventure but we had a lot of fun. We were there for almost a full week and got plenty of sun! :) The water was cold, Emma didn't like it much, she usually screamed when you put her in it. And the water kept rising a ton everyday, so we ended up having to move camp about three times during our stay. It was crazy! Here are some pics:

Emma's first tube ride. She screamed at first, but then she didn't mind it

So Emma would cry whenever I even carried across the water cuz she was afraid she was going to get wet, but one day she just walked right into it and we played in the water for about an hour. She was happy and splashing around. I guess she had to decide on her own to get in the water....

Playing in the sand with her cousin Sayla

The sand sticks to you like no other down there. Emma tried to eat it a few times but finally she caught on that it doesn't taste good.

One year old already?

Our little baby is no longer a baby anymore! I can't believe its already been a year since we held her in our arms for the first time. She now weighs 19 lbs 3 oz and is almost 30 inches long. Emma keeps getting funner and funner each day and she is really start to show her personality. Here are some fun facts:

She loves to give kisses and if she knows you pretty well you might just be lucky enough to get one.

She is walking everywhere! She has been walking since she was 11 months old. She loves to carry things with her as she walks which might explain why things disappear all of the time. :) She has so much energy, its hard to keep up with her.

She can say thank you, mommy, da da, and grandma. She jabbers all of the time. she also will throw a laugh in occasionally like she is having a real convesation with you. She thinks she is so funny. :)

She loves to eat, I'm surpised she doesn't weigh more after all that she eats. She will sometimes cry when the food is all gone.

She loves the water, as long as it is warm enough. :)

She trows up her hands and dances to music. She loves to patty-cake and peek a boo.

She has eight teeth, this is the first time she brused them...

Chelsie made her cake and I couldn't have asked for better! This was her own personal cake

This was the other cake, it was so awesome!

Emma eating her cake. Thanks Val for taking the picture, I can't believe I forgot to take one! Thanks to everyone who came! You guys are great!

The Swaises

I'm playing major blog catch up. So much has happened in the last little while. Our first adventure happened in May when we went to the Swazies. The Swazies an hour away from Delta (pretty much in the middle of nowhere) where there are a ton of wild horses. Each year the Rasmussens go chase them or look for them. When we arrived we set up camp in the pouring rain and it was cold that first night (thank goodness we got to sleep in a house trailer or Emma would have froze). But we had pretty good weather after that first day. Last year I didn't get to ride because I was pregnant so this year it was nice to be able to ride and see the horses. It was a ton of fun. Here are some pics:

Me and Chance on our horsies. :)

Emma took a couple of four wheeler rides and loved it. She especially loved when they were turned off and she could ride them by herself and push all of the buttons. :)

Hurricane Emma...

Out new nickname for our little girl is Hurricane Emma. Just as an example of how she can terrorize our home: Saturday me and Chance were both sick with what we are pretty sure was food poisening. I personally had no energy to take care of Emma so I kind of just let her run wild. Sunday morning when I did have energy it literally felt like a hurricane had stromed through our house. There were DVDs, CDs, toys, ripped magazines, books, shoes, and numerous other things scattered all throughout the house. I could not believe one little girl could make such messes.... She also loves to unroll toilet paper, play with remotes and cell phones, and get into other things she is not supposed to. :)

Here are some other facts about our little 10 month old....

-She gives kisses if you point to your cheek and tell her to give you one. She just opens her mouth and lays one on ya. She does it best for mommy and will do it to other people sometimes. Its the cutest thing ever...
-She plays patty cake with us and occasionally she will "roll it" like the rythme says to...
-She dances to music by shaking her shoulders back and forth..
-She will occasionally wave bye bye, when we were at Chance's grandma's house she wanted to leave her family room and go out in the hallway (probably to terrorize her bathroom). Right at the doorway she turned at me and waved before she continued on. It was pretty cute.
-She has taken a couple of what we like to call "falling steps", but they are steps nonetheless. She has stood by herself with no support for a few seconds a couple of times. She still is a long ways from walking but she is getting closer.
-She jabbers and talks non stops sometimes, it really is pretty cute
-She is sleeping all through the night from 8 or 9 at night till 8 in the morning. Thank you Emma!

She has done this a couple of times and then she doesn't know how to get out...

We went golfing with daddy a little while ago, I think me and Emma are ready for it to be nice and stay nice!!

Emma with her cousin Hawkin and Great Grandma Ras

Posing for the camera...

Me and Emma at the zoo. We went to the zoo with all of her cousins on Chance's side. I was on the perfect day, it was cool enough for all of the animals to be out but warm enough for us to be outside. I don't think Emma really understood the zoo, but she had fun being outside and with her cousins.

She loves to be outside. She gets so excited when I put her in her stroller, and I'm so happy we live so close to a park. She would swing all day if I let her.

I thought I would get a nude bathtub pic to blackmail with her later on in her life. She loves the bath though and esspecially loves this purple dolphin toy, she grabs it first thing once she gets in there, it squirts water out its nose. she loves that.

9 months...

Our little Emma is already nine months. Crazy how time flies. Here are the stats and facts:
She weighed 17 lbs and 8 oz at her nine month appointment, in the 25th percentile
She is tall at almost 29 inches, in the 90th percentile
Her head circumference remains in the 50th percentile.

*Emma loves to get into EVERYTHING still, her favorite is probably the toilet paper in the bathroom. She keeps me on my toes. I'm continually having to shut doors and close drawers and clean up messes. I'm sure it will only get worse. :)

*She can feed herself now and loves to put everything in her mouth, most of which doesn't belong there..

*She says Da Da very well, we are still working on Ma Ma. She claps her hands and waves occasionally. Her new trick is giving me kisses, I love that little trick. :)

*She absolutely loves her bath. She always finds her favorite dolphin that squirts water as soon as she gets in.

She is an absolute joy to have around...
Except of course when she is sick...so sad...

It took her nine months to get sick , but it finally came, and I hope its another nine more months before it comes again, or never would be good too. :) It started out Thurs when she started throwing up everything, but that only lasted one night and then she was fine. Then Friday night she woke up screaming and really congested and its been downhill from there. She has a stuffy nose, cough, and is not the happy baby we know and love. Saturday I got the throw ups too and that night we were up all night trying to calm Emma down. Finally we took her to the doctor and she has ear infections on top of all her congestion. Hopefully the antibiotic will start to help and she will get better soon. I just hope she will sleep tonight.
