Moab

For Spring Break for UVU we got the chance to go to Moab with some of our great friends the Brandons and the Davies!  It was a ton of fun.  I had never been before so it was fun to see all of red rock and scenery.  Our only downfall was the weather was not the greatest.  When it said "windy" on the forecast we had no idea it would be WINDY, like,  up to 65 miles per hour kind of winds.  It really wasn't too cold and it didn't rain until we were on our way home.  But wind and sand from the desert do not make a good combo. :)  Esspecially when you are trying to cook outside.  It reminded me of the sand storms you get in Lake Powell, except it was all day long.  And the house trailer we slept in felt like it was giong to blow over at night, so we didn't sleep very well.  And poor Dustin and Becca Davies attempted the tent for one night but then got smart the next night and slept in a motel. :) But it was fun to spend with good friends and there was a ton of stuff to see! Here are some pics:

Chance's sister Summer let us borrow this backpack.  It was so nice to have! Emma for the most part enjoyed it until she had been it in a while and then she wanted out.  But she was a good sport through the whole trip.

The first day we went and saw the delicate arch.  It was pretty cool.  It was the nicest day by far it was pretty hot so the wind felt good. :)

This is us and the Brandons, some kind soul took a picture of all of us.

We went down and stood under the arch...

The second day we went to this place, called Dead Horse Point. I believe they call it Dead Horse Point because they use to herd these horses to the top of this place.  I guess some of them got really thirsty and saw the water at the bottom and jumped to go get it, at least that is what I understood from it. Its only half as deep as the Grand Canyon, but it was still so pretty and cool to see.

Emma wanted to pose for the camera too...

We took a break for lunch in the truck cuz it was so windy outside.  Dustin and Becca joined us for this day, and that is there little boy Porter, who apparently is Emma's boyfriend.  As soon as he sat down by him she grabbed his hand.  She didn't waste any time. :)

We went on a hike that afternoon to see the Landscape Arch, and Emma could not resist again, so cute. If they get married this will be on their wedding video. :)

This is the Landscape Arch, it was pretty cool to see and it was a really pretty hike.

Emma loved the sand and loved when she could roam free.
Back at camp before the wind got too bad Emma was able to play with some sand toys, thanks Dustin and Becca for bringing them!

More craftiness...

So I have not been the best at my New Years Resolution.  I have not taken a picture every day ( although my camera broke and I just got a new one so hopefully that will give me a little more motivation) and I have not blogged 3 posts a month, although I have done alot this month so maybe it will make up for last month. :) But I have been pretty good at the craft stuff.  Here is what I did this month.

Us Rasmussen girls got together and made this...

And this, sorry I should have taken it out of the glare from the blinds, but you get the point.

And Chance's sister helped me make this awesome jewlery holder.  It is so nice not to have all of my jewlery tangled and always losing one earing.  This sorts it out just nice and keeps everything organized.  Thanks Afton for your help! It turned out great.

Its a girl! At least I'm pretty sure. :)

So sometimes it pays to work at a hospital that has an ultrasound machine.  I was working at Orem Community Hospital and we played on the ultrasound machine.  It was a pretty decent machine and you could see pretty clear.  The first time it was being stubborn but we didn't see any boy parts.  The second time we looked she decided not to be shy and gave us a clear bum shot.  Although it is hard to see in the picture that they took, you could even see those three little white lines, clearly identifying herself as a girl.  My 20 week ultrasound is on April 2nd so we can find out 100 percent, but we are pretty darn sure.  I'm excited.  Emma will have a nice little friend to play with and I won't have to buy a ton of stuff! Thank goodness.  I never thought I would have girls first knowing my family and how many boys are in it, but I LOVE girls and I am excited for another one.  Oh, and her name will be Sadie Mae Rasmussen.  Sadie is another form of Sarah so it will kind of be like we are naming her after me.  And Mae I just liked and thought they went well together.  Yeah for girls!

Baby #2

So practically everyone knows but I have not even blogged about being pregnant. Whoops! Here is out little peanut at 8 weeks, its not much to look at but its still something...

This second go around was a little harder in the begining than Emma was. I don't know why since I didn't even throw up that much, I definately threw up more with Emma.  But I did feel like crap all day long for about three or four weeks, and trying to take care of another child took its toll on me.  But, I'm so happy to say that I'm feel so much better and have lots of more energy.  Thank goodness! I thought the crappy stage would never end.
I"m a little nervous to have two kids, probably mostly because I will still have to work two nights a week until Chance is done with school, but I know it will all work out.  I have amazing family that is always willing to watch Emma while I sleep.  So bring on number 2!
So I'm 17 weeks now,  I go to the doctor tommorrow and then I will set up my the big 20 week appointment.  I have tried to call ultrasound in the hospital this weekend to see maybe if they could find out for me, but she was just going home so she couldn't do it.  Maybe I will try this week agian, so stay posted!

Growing up...sigh...

Miss Emma Loo Hoo is growing up so fast.  I know I say that all the time but she never decides to stop growing...Here are some things that she loves...

She loves going outside, lately she has been having some melt downs when she has to come back inside. Her whole world literally falls apart. Poor thing.  Her new favorite word is "Go" She will come up to you and grab you by the hand when and say "Go" when she wants to go somewhere (which is mainly outside).  Sometimes I wish she had never learned that word.  Esspecially when I still want to sleep and she comes in my room in the morning and demands that I get out of bed. :)
She loves her baths, she likes to lay down so the water is almost covering her face, its almost a little scary...she will definately love this summer being outside and playing in the water!

Unfortunately for me, she loves the toilet, she knows how to sit on it but is not quite sure what to do once she is on it.  She pulls down her pants sometimes, but most of the time she just climbs on it like the picture below...

She loves to play with my Q-tips...at least she knows what they are for right? :)

She loves her shoes! When you ask her to go get her shoes she will always pick out her cowgirl boots.  She will put them on in her diaper or just a onesie, she always seems to have them on no matter where she goes...

We love our little girl.  Life would be so dull without her. :)  She is learning words so fast....just to name a few she now says "blankie" although it sounds like "babee", "juice" although juice means any kind of drink so I  never know what kind of drink she wants..., "towel" she says this when she is ready to get out of the tub, "bite" she says that when she wants a bit of my food, "pee-u", I'm trying to teach her how to tell me when she has pooped, and she now has combined "bye" and "love you" so now when she tells someone goodbye she says "bye you" which means bye bye and I love you, just so you know. :) She is also very good at blowing kisses, she will blow one to anyone, including random people like the lady that stands at the door at Costco when you leave.. She says alot more but my mind forgets :) She still jabbers all the time though like we should know what she is saying.

She also loves to feed herself, she hardly ever lets me help anymore.  She is definately independent.  She could care less where I am half the time, esspecially when she is outside, she will leave me in a heartbeat to go exploring.  Its kind of scary sometimes but I haven't lost her yet!  She still loves to climb, she is always trying new things.  She now loves to climb the bunk beds at Grandma and Grandpa Ras' house, which is always a challenge since the bunk bed is in the toy room.  I never feel like I can just leave her to play.

She does not like:
When I bring her in from outside
When she has to be strapped in the carseat
Sitting still in church
Sometimes she does not like to take naps, its always when I'm tired too and would love to have a nap too

But for the most part, she is very happy child.  We love her to death! But stop growing up Emma!
